R+D

Development of biosensors for biomarker detection in liquid biopsies. These biosensors are applied to predict disease progression and the response to treatment in patients with cancer and other diseases.

Prediction of treatment response (personalized medicine).

Tumor parenchymal cells are isolated from surgical specimens or biopsies of each patient and used to predict the response to different treatments in our biological platforms.

Participation in research projects on cancer stem cells , and other aspects of the biology of tumor cells including angiogenesis, invasion, differentiation and apoptosis.

At present we are developing a project called SENTIR addressing detection and isolation of Circulating Tumor Cells (CTCs) through a novel device covered by patents. This project is being developed in collaboration with IDIVAL-HUMV, University of Cantabria and IK4-Tekniker
